Groovin' In The Park cancelled

Popular New York Reggae and R&B concert Groovin' In The Park has been cancelled this year.

The event, which was scheduled for June 26 at the Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, is again a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organisers also noted that global inflation caused by the war in Ukraine has significantly increased its production costs.

The event, which was last held in 2019, is scheduled to return on Sunday, June 25, 2023 for its 10th-anniversary celebration.

Groovin' In The Park has featured some of the top names in reggae including Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, Toots Hibbert, Jimmy Cliff and Capleton, as well as R&B icons Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds, Michael Bolton, Boyz to Men and Gladys Knight.
