Jamaica Poetry Festival celebrating 10th anniversary on August 9

Jamaica Poetry Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Sunday, August 9 with a live broadcast from the studios of Television Jamaican starting at 8:00 p.m.
Jamaica Poetry Festival started in 2011 as part of the Jamaica 50th Independence in partnership with JCDC and has been held annually at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre in Kingston.
However, due to COVID-19 protocols, the 10th anniversary will be a virtual staging which will pay tribute to Miss Lou's centenary.
This year's virtual staging features poets and performers from 10 countries, including the US, Canada, Netherlands, South Korea, Iran, England, Trinidad, Barbados and Botswana.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the illustrious literary icon, Olive Senior, who currently resides in Canada and who will participate in the 10th anniversary celebration.
