The Culture and Entertainment Ministry is leading the charge in facilitating Kanye West's pop-up Sunday Service at Emancipation Park on Friday.
Culture Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange said she received a call from West's advance team on Monday night, making the request to have the rap star hold his praise and worship service in Jamaica.
The idea to host the weekly service in Jamaica came from one of Kanye's workers, who is Jamaican.
The 120-strong Voice Choir and 15-member band are flying to Jamaica Thursday and are to leave on Saturday.
The event, to be staged at Emancipation Park starting at 7 p.m., is open to the public.
This is Sunday Service's first appearance in the Caribbean, with plans to take the service to Africa, Europe and Asia.
West reportedly became a Christian in April.
