Marvel releases Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer; features 'No Woman No Cry'

The first official trailer for the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel was released over the weekend, much to the delight of fans.

The two-minute excerpt was opened with a rendition of Bob Marley's Woman No Cry, sung by Nigerian star Tems, transitioning to rapper Kendrick Lamar's lyrically potent Be Alright.

The singles set the tone for the upcoming film, following the death of main character Chadwick Boseman, who lost his four-year battle with colon cancer in August 2020.

No Woman No Cry released in 1974, is one of Bob Marley's most popular singles, sampled and covered scores of times.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a follow-up to the 2018 blockbuster by director Ryan Coogler.

Actors Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright will reprise their roles.

Following the trailer's debut, social media users gave the thumbs up while, while honouring the life of Boseman whose image is featured in the teaser.

Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theatres November 11.
