Nike postpones release of shoe collaboration with Travis Scott following deadly Astroworld festival

Sport brand Nike has postponed the release of their Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack sneaker collaboration with rapper Travis Scott.

The suspension follows the death of the 10th victim, nine-year-old Ezra Blount, from the Astroworld festival tragedy.

Hundreds of people were injured at the Houston fest on November 5 following a massive crowd surge during Scott's headlining set.

A statement released by Nike said the postponement was out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events.

It's unclear if and when the company might release the shoe which was originally slated to arrive on December 16.

Video game developer Fortnite has also removed the Travis Scott emote from its game.
