Oscars will have a host for the first time since 2018

The 2022 Academy Awards will see the return of a host for the first time since 2018 and will broadcast from its longtime home at the Dolby Theatre.

While other awards shows including The Recording Academy have been postponed because of a surge in COVID-19 cases, broadcast network ABC said plans remain in place to hold the Oscars, on March 27 in Los Angeles.

Ratings for film's highest honours have fallen in recent years, dropping to a record low in 2021.

Nominations for the Oscars will be announced on February 8.
