Pink named UK's most played female artiste of the 21st Century

Pop singer Pink has been named the most played female artiste of the 21st Century in the UK.

The ranking was compiled by music licensing company, PPL, from music usage and airplay data from UK radio stations and television channels.

Pink has received more air time than fan favourites Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

The 42-year-old US star has built up a strong catalogue of radio-friendly hits since 2000, including singles Just Give Me A Reason and Try.

In her four-decade long career, Madonna came in at number two and in third place is Katy Perry.

Rihanna and Lady Gaga round out the top five.
