R. Kelly on suicide watch following sex trafficking conviction

Convicted R&B singer R. Kelly was reportedly placed on suicide watch following his sex trafficking conviction last month.

His attorney Steve Greenberg revealed that the disgraced singer-songwriter was being monitored, but is no longer thought to be at risk.

It is a common practice by federal officials to place recently convicted inmates under monitoring.

Kelly was convicted in September of nine counts of racketeering and sex trafficking.

He will be sentenced on May 4 next year, and faces between 10 years and life in prison.

Kelly will also face the courts in Chicago, Wisconsin and Minnesota, where he is accused of further sex crimes.
