A Spanish court today ordered Colombian superstar Shakira to stand trial on accusations that she failed to pay €14.5 million in income taxes.
The 45-year-old Hips Don't Lie singer rejected a deal to settle the case in July.
The prosecutor is seeking an eight-year prison term over Shaikra's failure to pay taxes between 2012 and 2014.
Shakira said she was leading a nomadic life during the period because of her work.
She has vowed to fight what she claims were "false" accusations by authorities, adding that she had already paid what the Spanish tax office said she owed before they filed a lawsuit.
