Taylor Swift dominates 2022 American Music Awards

Pop star Taylor Swift was last night's big winner at the 50th American Music Awards, walking away with 6 trophies.

Swift was awarded Artiste of the Year, Favourite Female Pop Artiste, Favourite Pop Album as well Favourite Country Artiste and Favourite Country Album.

Her win in both the Pop and Country categories follows the release of her re-recorded album "Red (Taylor's Version)" and current Billboard chart topper "Midnights."

Beyoncé left with three trophies for Favourite Female R&B Artiste, Favourite R&B Song and Favourite R&B Album.

Bad Bunny, BTS, Harry Styles, Morgan Wallen and Kendrick Lamar all secured two prizes each.

Niicki Minaj won in the Female Hip Hop category, while Chris Brown took the award for Male R&B Artiste.

Brown's win comes a day after the AMAs cancelled his performance without explanation.

The tribute performance to the King of Pop Michael Jackson was a part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the album "Thriller."

Wizkid won for Afrobeats Artiste, while Tems' feature on Future's ''Wait For U" alongside Drake, won Favourite Hip Hop Song.

The fan voted award show hosted by Wayne Brady took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and paid special tribute iconic singer Lionel Richie.
