Wendy Williams opens up about medical condition, producing podcast

Media icon Wendy Williams has spoken out about her ongoing medical struggles and the path she will be taking in her broadcast career.

In an interview with online tabloid TMZ, Williams shared that she continues to battle lymphoedema, a chronic condition that causes swelling in the body's tissues.

She added that she has lost 95 percent of the feeling in her feet, which sometimes leaves her wheelchair-bound.

Wendy also made it clear that she is fully retired from her hit daytime show, The Wendy Williams Show, but she is open to returning as a guest host on other programmes, including The View.

Williams will now focus her attention on producing her own podcast and is looking into launching a follow-up sneaker line for the Home Shopping Channel (HSN).

After 13 successful years in syndication, The Wendy Williams Show aired its final episode on June 17.
