CAC and FTC to be merged

Thee Government is merging the Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Fair Trading Commission (FTC).

Floyd Green, State Minister in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said the move is part of several measures to build the capacity of the CAC.

The CAC has a resolution rate of 85 per cent.

Over the last three years, it has secured more than $70 million for consumers whose rights had been breached.
