Cari-Med chairman calls for more STEM teachers

Glen Christian, Chairman of Cari-Med, wants the hiring of more persons to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

He said economic growth has been elusive because those subjects are not being treated as priority.

He highlighted that of the 1,800 teachers in the secondary education system, only 15 per cent are qualified to teach the sciences.

Mr. Christian said this is troubling.
