IATA says air travel stalled by spike in COVID-19 cases

Global industry body International Air Transport Association (IATA) says recovery in air travel has stalled amid elevated COVID-19 cases and the reintroduction of travel restrictions in some regions.
Based on an analysis, global passenger traffic is not forecast to return to pre-COVID-19 levels until 2024, which Iata says represents a year later than what had been previously projected.
According to IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac, passenger traffic plunged to its lowest in April, but the strength of the upturn has been very weak.
