Jamaica strengthening trade ties with Guyana

Jamaica is strengthening trade ties with Guyana.

Minister of Industry, Investment, and Commerce Senator Aubyn Hill has led a second trade mission to the country with a delegation from Jamaica.

More than 70 business and trade interests were a part of the mission.

Mr. Hill says the move is to drive exports and investments between Guyana and Jamaica, which he hopes will create strategic alliances and help expand the economy.

Vice President of Guyana, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, says the partnership will lower unemployment while also enhancing infrastructure and the housing stock.

Guyana is the fastest growing economy in the region, and one of the only jurisdictions in the world projected to see double digit growth.
