The Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) has announced that it will be seeking US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval as a third-party accreditation body.
Sharonmae Shirley, Chief Executive Officer of JANAAC, said the entity will be audited by the FDA later this year.
Miss Shirley said the partnership with the FDA is expected to facilitate ease of exportation to the US and benefit the manufacturing and export industry.
Over the last seven years, JANAAC has increased the number of entities accredited to international standards in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
It is represented in at least 10 Caribbean states.
