JHTA assisting to return UK visitors affected by Thomas Cook collapse

The Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) is working with members to assist visitors in returning to the UK, to secure forward bookings to the island and to mitigate any chaos or fallout in travel to and from Jamaica.

This follows the compulsory liquidation of Thomas Cook, one of the world's oldest and largest travel companies.

JHTA President Omar Robinson said a number of guests have been left stranded by the Thomas Cook liquidation and there is concern about forward bookings from the company which has been a good partner to Jamaica.

The UK government has committed to repatriating Thomas Cook customers.

The Jamaica Tourist Board is also moving quickly to fill any gaps that may occur due to the Thomas Cook liquidation.
