Spirit Airlines is to stop its direct, nonstop service from Bradley International Airport in Connecticut to Jamaica in early June.
After six months of operating the route, the airline says it has called it quits due to lower-than-expected demand.
In a report from a US-based news outlet, the airline says it will operate the service until June 6.
Refunds will, however, be provided to passengers with reservations after that date.
Delano Seiveright, Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, says the discontinued service will not have a major impact on Jamaica.
The Connecticut Airport Authority is reportedly in active discussions with other airlines to restart the nonstop service.
