Wigton enters joint venture agreement with IEC Ltd

Wigton Windfarm has entered into two joint venture agreements with engineering and construction firm IEC Limited.

One of the agreements sees Wigton providing project management and oversight services, as IEC and Derillion Energy Jamaica Limited  design, supply, install, test and commission a two Megawatt photovoltaic solar system at Norman Manley International Airport.

The other is for the execution of Green Energy Solutions.

Both Wigton and IEC have agreed to cooperate in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of "green energy projects".

These would be procured by third parties who intend to generate green energy for their own consumption or to sell to the Jamaica Public Service Company.

IEC currently has an active pipeline of green energy projects in Jamaica, and it is anticipated that Wigton will participate in some of them.

This is in line with Wigton's plans to execute renewable energy projects as consultants and contractors to third parties.

Wigton says it is exploring other opportunities for joint collaboration on projects with experienced firms, as it seeks to diversify its revenue.
