Despite a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, the death toll from the virus continues to increase.
The Ministry of Health is reporting that another 19 people have died from the coronavirus.
The death toll is now 2,053.
Fourteen of the latest deaths were recorded in Hanover.
St. Catherine and St. Ann each had two, while one occurred St. James.
The fatalities occurred during the period from July 31 to October 10.
Another death is being investigated by the Health Ministry.
At the same time, the COVID-19 positivity rate has declined to 8.8 per cent after 51 cases were confirmed on Tuesday from 531 samples.
The overall case count since the onset of the virus in March last year is 86,507.
Hospitalisations related to the coronavirus have increased from 391 on Monday to 415.
Fifty-one of those admitted are severely ill and 31 are in critical condition.
