Another suspect is in custody in connection with the Clarendon-based Ronko gang which is said to involve several members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The suspect surrendered to the police on Monday in the company of his attorney.
He joins other suspects including three members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force arrested last week for involvement in the criminal gang.
Initially, four policemen were arrested.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey confirmed that one cop was released following the refusal of two witnesses to take part in an identification parade exercise.
DCP Bailey told the media on Friday that eight members of the JCF have been linked to the Ronko Gang.
The police have identified 27 members of the gang.
He said the criminal network has been linked to shootings, robberies and abductions in seven parishes from 2019 to 2021.
A police constable, identified as Tafari Silvera, is said to be the leader of the criminal organisation.
Constable Silvera was arrested last year in connection with the killing of two men in Clarendon.
