Bahamas PM says COVID-19 vaccine distribution and administration will be logistical challenge

Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Dr. Hubert Minnis says the distribution and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine will be a “huge” operational and logistical challenge.
Dr. Minnis in a televised address on Sunday urged Bahamians to take the vaccine when their turn comes.
He said the country will be able to responsibly open up once a large percentage of Bahamians are vaccinated.
The prime minister did not say when the vaccines will arrive in the country, but advised the government expects to receive details on Monday related to the shipment of 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine that have been secured through the COVAX Facility.
Bahamian officials previously said the vaccine will be in country by the end of March.
