Bail hearing postponed for man accused of beating stepson to death

The hearing of a bail application for Shaun-Dee Bennett, who is charged with the death of his four-year-old stepson in Willowdene, St. Catherine, was postponed on Friday in the St. Catherine Parish Court.
The hearing was pushed back to September 20 after the court was told that Mr. Bennett is to face an identification parade in another matter.
Mr. Bennett has been charged with cruelty to a child, child abuse, unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It was reported that on July 18, the boy, who was identified as Nashawn Brown, was at home when he became ill and refused to eat.
It's alleged that Mr. Bennett became angry and began beating him with a stick.
Nashawn was pronounced dead at Spanish Town Hospital.
