Biden's choice for UN post had earlier posting in Jamaica

US President-elect Joe Biden’s choice of diplomat Linda Thomas Greenfield to be that country’s next UN Ambassador had an earlier posting in Jamaica among several other overseas assignments.

Her foreign service career dates back to the Reagan administration.

In addition to Jamaica, Mrs Thomas Greenfield was posted in Switzerland, Pakistan, Kenya, The Gambia and Nigeria.

In the Obama administration, she served as the Assistant Secretary of  State for African affairs.
