Sandra Nelson, a resident who was redirected to Yallahs Baptist Church Hall to get vaccinated
There was chaos at some vaccination sites across Jamaica on Tuesday morning as activities started later than expected.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that people grew impatient at St. George's College in Kingston as the health care team arrived late.
It was a similar situation at Portmore Heart Academy in St. Catherine and Turtle River Park in Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
There was also confusion at Yallahs Health Centre in St. Thomas where hundreds of people showed up to get vaccinated.
Some people who arrived before 5 o'clock were later told the vaccines would be administered at Yallahs Baptist Church Hall.
A resident, Sandra Nelson, complained that the vaccination process was disorganised.
"On the radio, they told us that the vaccine would be at the Yallahs health centre. That is where they direct you to the vaccine blitz. When you go at the health centre, the health centre saying that they not having any vaccine; they sending us to the church hall. Why they didn't (tell) us from first that it is at the church hall?" she lamented.
A number of the disgruntled people had to walk to the new location while others, including the elderly, waited for public transportation which was not readily available.
