A policeman is being treated in hospital after he was attacked and stabbed multiple times on the May Pen leg of Highway 2000 early this morning.
The constable, who is assigned to the St Catherine North Enhanced Security Measures, is in stable condition.
Head of Operations for the Clarendon Police, Superintendent Christopher Phillips says the cop was attacked about 3:15 while on his way to work.
He says the policeman had stopped to change a punctured tyre.
So far investigations have led the police to believe that the incident was an ambush.
