COVID-19 outbreak at Barbados Psychiatric Hospital

Health authorities in Barbados have confirmed an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Psychiatric Hospital, where more than 100 cases have been detected in recent days.
 
The authorities said through contact tracing, a link between two wards had been detected with at least three patients at one of the wards found to be symptomatic.
 
The decision was made to screen all staff and patients at one of the wards.
 
As of October 22, at least 43 positive cases out of the 56 patients had been detected.
 
It said results from tests conducted on the other ward the same date, revealed 64 positive cases out of the 65 patients.
