COVID-19 related hospitalisations on the decline

There has been a marked decline in COVID-19 related hospitalizations, with 17 patients discharged on Friday.
The Ministry of Health & Wellness, in its latest report, said 97 patients were receiving treatment in hospital on Friday, compared to 114 on Thursday.
Nine of  the patients are severely ill while three are in critical condition.
The ministry also confirmed 115 new cases of the virus were confirmed from 581 tests on Friday, for an infection rate of 20.4 per cent.
One death from September last year was confirmed as COVID-19 related, pushing Jamaica's tally since the start of the pandemic to 3,113.
