The Dominica government is suspending the importation of a number of products, including aerated beverages and wheat from the more developed countries of CARICOM.
The Ministry of Trade says the measure, which goes into effect on August 3, will also ban the importation of these products from outside the region.
The Dominican government said Article 164 of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, which governs the regional integration movement, is being implemented.
It said this is being done in an effort to honour its obligations under the Treaty and to provide an environment of growth in the manufacturing sector.
