Family of Clarendon murder victims agree with death penalty bid for accused killer

Peter Wright, the father of Kemesha Wright, who was killed with her children
Relatives of a woman and her four children who were murdered in New Road, Clarendon, say they agree with the decision to seek the death penalty for 23-year-old Rushane Barnett who is accused of the killings.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions served a notice of death penalty on Mr. Barnett when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Peter Wright, the father of Kemesha Wright, who was one of the victims, agrees that the crime warrants extreme punishment.
"A man can look pon a one-year-old baby and kill a baby, a five-year-old baby, a 10-year-old baby, not to mention a 15-year-old, and kill dem and kill di mother? A man like that mustn't come back pon di street," Mr. Wright argued.
Kemesha Wright and her children - 15-year-old Kimanda Smith, 12-year-old Sharalee Smith, five-year-old Rafaella Smith and 23-month-old Kishawn Henry Jr - were found dead at their home on Tuesday, June 21.
Their bodies had chops wounds and the throats slashed.
Rushane Barnett was held by the police for the killings later that day.
