Fire at Alexandria lock-up

An investigation is underway after detainees at the Alexandria police lock-up in St. Ann started a fire in the building Monday evening.
 
One person was injured.
 
Radio Jamaica News was informed that about 7 o'clock ten persons were in custody when smoke was seen coming from the lock up.
 
It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
 
One of  the detainees suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital.
 
Units from the Brown's Town and St. Ann's Bay fire stations were dispatched to extinguish the blaze which damaged sections of  the lock-up.
