The five men who were arrested last week following the seizure of $12 million worth of ganja off the coast of Alligator Pond, were each offered bail in the sum of $650,000 when they appeared in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court on Thursday.
They are 28-year-old construction worker Loshene Sibbles; 23-year-old farmer George Shakespeare; 46-year-old farmer Henry Salmon and 45-year-old farmer Erron Blake, all of St. Elizabeth addresses.
The fifth man is 63-year-old James Singh, a fisherman of New Green in Manchester.
They are scheduled to return to court on February 9.
It was reported that about 6:00 p.m. on November 23, members of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard were on an anti-narcotics mission when they intercepted a vessel with five men aboard.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 57 bags of ganja weighing 3,800 pounds.
