Flash Flood Warning in effect for sections of Jamaica

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for low-lying and flood prone areas of St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston, St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester until 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
An area of low pressure southwest of the island is producing heavy rains.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for other parishes.
The area of low pressure is forecast to linger until on Friday.
The Meteorological Service says there will be thunderstorms and strong gusty winds.
