Foreign Affairs Ministry assisting Jamaicans in more than 40 countries wishing to return

Foreign Affairs Minister Senator Kamina Johnson Smith has said her ministry has been assisting vulnerable Jamaicans in more than 40 countries who want to return home.
 
Speaking in the Senate Friday morning, Mrs Johnson Smith said the ministry and the consular team have fielded hundreds of telephone calls and emails from affected persons and their relatives seeking advice and assistance.
 
She said the ministry has been cataloguing the needs of the Jamaicans and providing assistance.
 
Senator Johnson Smith said her ministry is focusing on those with specific consular needs and an urgent need to return to Jamaica.
