Frustration mounts over status of some detainees under State of Emergency

There's growing uncertainty and frustration this morning about the status of several persons detained in St James under the State of  Emergency, and who were transferred to Kingston.

The Cornwall Bar Association last night confirmed that fifty persons who were transferred yesterday from the Freeport Station in St James to the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Kingston due to a lack of space, are now back at the Freeport Station.

President of the Association, Stacy Ann Young, told our news centre that the detainees were sent back amid reports of a lack space at Horizon.

This situation has caused another flood of relatives to descend on the Freeport station as the men were not released.
