Opposition Leader Mark Golding believes the strikes and threats of industrial action by public sector workers this week have humbled and woken up the government.
But Mr Golding, speaking Friday on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, said it was a pity it took such action to get the administration to take steps to address the workers' concerns regarding the public sector compensation review.
He believes that lack of information on key aspects of the reform has caused consternation among workers and undermined trust in the process.
Mr. Golding is hoping that this week's events will mark a new point of the negotiations.
