Gov't completes review of education system

Prime Minister Andrew Holness
The review of the education system that was commissioned by the government last year has been completed.
A report has been presented to Cabinet.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the findings are being considered and the report will be made public "very shortly" to facilitate discussions with stakeholders.
He noted that the government intends to "implement the agreed recommendations for true transformation of the system for the benefit of our children".
Mr. Holness said the review panel, which is chaired by Professor Orlando Patterson, is currently undertaking a detailed study of technical and vocational education and the HEART Trust/NSTA.
He was speaking on Sunday at the Jamaica Labour Party's 78th annual conference.
