Health Ministry reviewing security at health centres following shooting at Maxfield Park facility

A review is to be carried out of security measures at Jamaica's health centres.
This follows Monday's fatal shooting on the compound of the Maxfield Park Comprehensive Health Centre in St. Andrew.
Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the review will determine whether changes are needed.
However, he said the process could pose a challenge because "when you catering to the public (sic), you don't turn away people and persons can come with mal-intent and create havoc on the premises."
The Maxfield Park Comprehensive Health Centre was closed early on Monday following the shooting which claimed the life of 19 year old Rushique Bailey, a resident of Maxfield Avenue.
The incident occurred about 10 o'clock.
It was reported that Mr. Bailey was seeking treatment at the health centre after being shot last week.
While at the back of the facility, he was approached by three men and chased to the waiting area of the health centre, where the men opened gunfire at him.
Mr. Bailey died at the scene.
His attackers escaped.
