"I did it for the money," says Jamaican cop caught with cocaine in the US

One of the three Jamaican cops caught smuggling at least 500 grams of  cocaine in the United States reportedly said she did it for the money.

Her statement is contained in an affidavit filed by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in support of a criminal complaint against the cop and two other members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

It says the cops collaborated to distribute the drugs.

About 1.44 kilograms of cocaine was allegedly found in the female cop's bag.

The policewoman reportedly confessed that she would have been paid US$2,000 after delivering the cocaine at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Law enforcement database checks revealed that the cop's travel history showed patterns that are consistent with previous smuggling trends.

The arrested cops were reportedly intercepted by agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Atlanta and Charlotte.
