A Jamaican has been identified as one of the victims of a New York subway killing spree over the weekend. She is 44 year old Claudine Roberts.
Ms Roberts migrated from Jamaica when she was seven years old.
Her family said she was living on the streets because of mental illness.
It’s reported that Ms Roberts recently left a psychiatric hospital and was on a train when she was killed by another homeless man early Saturday in a random slashing spree.
The police said a 57 year-old man, believed to homeless, was also killed and two more riders wounded.
The suspected killer, 21 year old Rigoberto Lopez, was caught Sunday and has since been charged.
Mr Lopez is also said to be mentally ill.
