The JDF, in a press release on Tuesday night, said the team's first order of business was the clearing of debris and silt from a road in 9 Miles. The team used front end loaders and other heavy equipment to reopen the road and re-establish contact with the community.
The soldiers worked along with members of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management and the National Works Agency,
DART is the JDF's disaster response mechanism. It comprises engineers, infantrymen, logisticians and other support staff.
The team is usually deployed overseas but maintains the capability to be assigned locally in response to natural disasters.
