Lay Magistrates Association outraged by attacks on women and children

The Lay Magistrates Association of Jamaica (LMAJ) has expressed outrage at what it described as the wanton brutal attacks on women and children across the country since the start of the year.

The LMAJ says the incidents have spiralled out of control.

The association says with almost 18 per cent of all murders stemming from domestic disputes, there is a need for the government to implement mediation, counselling and dispute resolution programmes.

It says particular attention must be paid to children to prevent attacks.
