Legal teams for incarcerated dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his three co-convicts are expected to wrap up submissions in the Court of Appeal on Wednesday regarding the application seeking leave to take their case to the UK Privy Council.
The hearing continued for a second day on Tuesday via video link.
Bianca Samuels, one of the attorneys representing Shawn Campbell, told Radio Jamaica News that the proceedings concerned a number of directions which were given by the trial judge, including "whether or not the directions constituted a fair trial" or whether Shawn Campbell specifically "had received a fair treatment on his defence".
"It wasn't a question on whether or not those directions were given fairly or at all simplicitous, but issues concerning whether those directions and the issues arising therefrom should be ventilated in the Privy Council," she argued.
The Director of Public Prosecutions will make submissions after the defense.
Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, along with Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St. John, are serving mandatory life sentences for the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.
In April, they lost their appeals in the Court of Appeal.
