An announcement is to be made on Wednesday in the House of Representatives about whether the order for the opening of beaches and rivers will be extended.
Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie said the conduct of Jamaicans since the restrictions were lifted on June 7, has been disappointing.
Mr. McKenzie said another assessment of the locations on the weekend found there was 91 per cent non-compliance.
He urged Jamaicans to show greater responsibility in following the guidelines but advised that his statement to parliament on Wednesday will be to outline "certain steps that we are going to be putting in place to ensure that we get the kind of compliance that is required."
Mr. McKenzie was speaking at Monday's virtual media briefing hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister.
