Man accused of setting spouse on fire in Hanover, remanded

Emron Pillnar, who is accused of dousing his common-law wife, Nicola Clarke, with gasoline and setting her on fire in Great River, Hanover, last month has been remanded. 
 
He made his first appearance in court recently.
 
Mr. Pillnar is to return to court on July 19.
 
He was charged with attempted murder after he went to the Savanna-la Mar Hospital seeking treatment for injuries he received during the May 19 incident.
 
It was reported that the couple had an argument at Miss Clarke's shop.
 
Mr. Pillnar left and returned with gasoline, which he allegedly threw on the woman and the one-room structure.
 
He is accused of using a lighter to set Miss Clarke and the shop ablaze.
 
Miss Clarke is currently in the US receiving treatment.
