Man fatally shot by police in Mineral Heights, Clarendon

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed by the police in the Mineral Heights Housing Scheme in Clarendon on Thursday night.
 
He has been identified as Kevaughn Salmon.
 
Three men were also detained and two firearms seized following the incident which occurred about 10 o'clock.
 
Assistant Superintendent of Police Eudine Downie, of the Clarendon Police Division, said the police went to community after receiving intelligence. 
 
"Upon approaching Iron Drive, they observed a group of four men during the curfew hours. They accosted the men, during which one of whom pulled a firearm and pointed it at the police. The police neutralised the threat and recovered two nine millimeter pistols from his person," he revealed. 
 
The police say two cars were also seized.
 
Neither had licence plates registered to them.
