Man fatally shot in Portmore community after killing mother, attacking guard

A man was fatally shot in Phoenix Park, Portmore, St. Catherine on Tuesday morning after he allegedly killed his mother and then attacked a security guard.
He has been identified as 22-year-old Khaleel Bent, a student of Caribbean Maritime University and the son of a police officer.
It's reported that some time before 2 o'clock, he attacked a motorist who managed to escape unharmed, leaving his car behind.  
Bent, who is believed to be of unsound mind, then stole the vehicle and later collided with a bus.
It's reported that he proceeded to attack a security supervisor who was the driver of that bus. 
He was shot during a tussle and died at the scene.
Residents later went to his house in Greater Portmore and found his mother dead from what appeared to be a head injury. She has been identified as 46-year-old Omega Bent.
