Maxfield Ave residents protest fatal shooting of taxi operator, teen

One protester from Maxfield Avenue

Some residents of Maxfield Avenue in St. Andrew protested on Monday morning following the fatal shooting of 14 year old Damane Hall and a taxi operator in the community on Saturday.

The placard-bearing residents blocked sections of Rodney Road demanding justice.

About 8:20 Saturday morning, 44 year old Richard Francis was washing his car on Alexander Road when gunmen shot him.

One of the protesters told RJR News the man was shot twice in the back after he tried to run.

The teenager, who was inside the man's house, was also killed.

The protesters also vented their frustrations about a lack of water in the community, arguing that Mr. Francis was made an easy target because he had to wash his vehicle at a community pipe stand.
