Data released by the Jamaica Constabulary Force have revealed that more licensed firearm holders are losing their weapons and ammunition to thieves.
Eighty licensed firearms, including 50 pistols and 24 revolvers have been stolen since January 1.
Some 1,500 rounds of ammunition were also reported stolen.
Meanwhile, the figures show that more cars are being stolen.
The JCF said 475 vehicles - comprising 354 cars, 22 trucks, 19 buses and 80 motorcycles - have been stolen since January.
That was 100 more than last year.
