More than $7 million stolen from Western Union outlet in St. Mary

The police are searching for robbers who stole a vault containing more than $7 million from the Western Union outlet in Oracabessa, St. Mary, on Tuesday morning.
 
About 3 o'clock, a response team from a private security company received an alert from Western Union and went to the location at the Edward Shopping Centre.
 
The security team reportedly found the grilles prised open. 
 
The police were summoned and it was discovered that the thieves had spray painted CCTV cameras with black paint and entered the Western Union outlet.
 
The office was ransacked.
 
It was discovered that the thieves had removed the vault containing J$6.4 million, US$5,935, Can$700, £1,720 and €670.
